Codex is solid -- I run it next to Claude Code every day. One thing thats saved me: I dont pick a winner, I have both write a plan first and diff the two plans against each other before any edit lands. On production or regulated work a wrong edit is expensive, and the two harnesses catch each others blind spots. Codex misses something, Claude flags it, and vice versa.
